L asked me again if I was sure about the job change. I was actually thinking about it last night at the new job. Sure, it sucks having to work two jobs but when I compare the cleaning job to working at F-Off, the trade offs are well worth it. Sure, I'm tired now but I've been working all three jobs for the last two months. Once I start getting entire weekends off, I'll be plenty rested.
This Saturday is my last day at F-Off. That will be a happy day for me.

August is almost half over and the end is near. Tomorrow I'll work my shift at F-Off, skip next week and then my final final Saturday of working a job that has been ruining my weekends for the last nine years. After that, I'll be able to look forward to Fridays just like everyone else.
Although it would have been nice to have been done with it last month and have had August to enjoy, the timing of my last day will at least avoid the start of the busy season.
The new job is working out just fine. I have the routine down already. I simply do my job without interruption and go home. No customers, no phone calls, no email and no corporate audits.
At my real job, the company is holding it's "Family Picnic" this weekend. It's so nice to be appreciated, especially with free beer and lobster!
Going to the Green Day concert on Monday. Got half a day off for that.
August is going to be quite the month!

F-Off tomorrow but it's one of only three more Saturdays that I have to spend at that crappy job. That place only takes up 7% of my week but causes 90% of the stress. Once that's eliminated, I am going to be one mellow fellow.

Gave my notice last Friday and now the days cannot pass fast enough. When I finish the new job on Thursday nights I think soon it will be just one day 'til the weekend. I gave six weeks notice but am not working two of those weeks.
Got my review at the regular job. It was a good one but the money will still be short this year. There are a few things that I really need to work on this year so that hopefully next year I'll get a nice raise.
I can't express how excited I am about soon to be having entire weekends off. I've been working this Saturday job for over nine years and a good portion of that was Saturdays and Sundays. So now, instead of 52 days off, I'll have 104!

|Well, I did it.
Last Friday I went into FXO and gave my notice and what a relief it was. Now I'll just work out the last few weeks and then start enjoying the happiness that comes with weekends off.
That job was the one negative aspect of my life and now it's soon to be gone. Life should be enjoyed and that's what I'm planning on doing.

|Time for a Change
One more week ought to solidify my decision. Yesterday pretty much sealed the deal but I'll give it at least one more week before committing.
Last Thursday, after three days at the new job, I thought, "Soon I'll be looking forward to Fridays like everyone else." To have two full days off on a regular basis after all these years is going to be heaven.
Yesterday, the old job started with the usual stress induced diarrhea and a paranoid schizophrenic as the first customer. Then my co-worker calls in sick from the hospital. One of the first jobs I tender is wrong and has to be re-done. My manager (who was in preparing for an audit) was at least answering the phone while I was juggling production, express, the counter and FedEx. This would have been a help except that she took a rush job for posters on matte paper after I had just switched out the roll to vinyl. The day just continued like that right up until closing when I had to kick out the last minute people who always just squeeze in before I lock the doors.
At the new job, I work by myself in a quiet environment with a one specific task to complete within a reasonable amount of time. No stress, no changing priorities, no interruptions and no dealing with the general public
! It's a no-brainer.

|This is Going to Work!
Worked the first full day (night) at the new job. Wasn't difficult at all. I'm just going to have to get a little faster but that will come once I get into a flow.

Found out yesterday that Kato has bone cancer. We only have him for a couple more months at the most.

Today is Dec. 23rd. There are only two days until Christmas! The commutes this week have been like little presents from the traffic Santa.
Today at work, we are having a beer swap. Tomorrow, a Yankee swap and the company Christmas party, then home.
Christmas Eve at my mother's and hopefully, a nice Christmas day home with the kids. The trick on Christmas day will be how to make a full turkey dinner without spending the whole day on it.

Tomorrow is Halloween and I'm going to be stuck at F-Off all day and night. Well at least it's not Christmas.
